Peter Carrington had already racked up 16 years’ experience in technical services and digital media engineering at Technicolor and Sky prior to joining LMH as the company’s Director of Technology. He brings to the role a wealth of experience in both the operations and engineering sides of broadcast media services.
Peter honed his eye (and ear!) for quality control as a QC operator, checking master tapes for visual and audio impairments. He has amassed extensive expertise in tape ingest, dubbing, standards conversion and frame-rate conversion, 3D video, codecs and restoration of damaged or degraded content.
Peter’s expert knowledge spans a vast range of audio, video and storage technology, as well as secure delivery systems such as Signiant and Aspera.
And he has been heavily involved in several facilities relocation projects that have involved setting up digital intermediates, digital cinema, digital media, DVD/Blu-ray and sound stages, so his technical knowledge is supported by practical expertise.
Peter’s expansive technical know-how means he is perfectly placed to establish the most suitable platforms, technologies and methods for your project, from ingest and restoration all the way through to storage, video transcoding and secure delivery.
He has oversight for our quality control, DPP-compliance testing and PSE testing services, so you can have the utmost confidence that the content you are delivering will meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.
