When Gary Edwards founded LMH in January 2016, he was able to call upon a career in broadcast engineering spanning 22 successful years working for Technicolor, Sony and Sky.
The scope of Gary’s experience is vast. He has worked as Technical Director, Chief Engineer, Platform Service Manager and Senior Architect, across departments including Media Services, Facility Management and Broadcast Systems Design.
Gary specialises in the technical management and implementation of digital media ingest, processing, distribution and archive systems. He has extensive experience across a wide cross-section of the broadcast industry. He has worked in post production for TV and broadcast, digital media production, sound services, digital cinema and DI film production.
Gary boasts a wide knowledge of formats, codecs and wrappers for most platforms, and their respective workflows, and is familiar with automation concepts.
As well as scores of standalone projects, Gary has successfully acted as sole lead and owner of multiple technical work streams in delivering four major media facility build projects across the world. It is these expertise and experience that have enabled him to build LMH’s industry-leading media services and post production facility.
In his prior role as Platform Service Manager, Gary managed a team that developed end-to-end digital media archive, restoration, processing and delivery services for two large international media content owners/distributors. The solution was able to handle a huge variety of delivery formats and is still serving over 250 VOD, OTT and TX end platforms.
In building LMH’s facility, Gary has put in place systems, platforms and technologies that afford us agility and flexibility in responding to your needs quickly and appropriately. Gary’s knowledge can be leveraged to ensure the perfect solution for your projects, from choosing the right format, codec and wrapper for your file delivery, to specifying a tailored archiving hierarchy for you.
