Andrew has been a key figure within Memnon for the last eight years, during which time he was instrumental in establishing, growing and running our US business. Over his long and impressive career, Andrew’s very special brand of enthusiasm made him a wonderful colleague, a compassionate leader and an important industry figure.
As those of you who knew and cared for Andrew will appreciate, his positive energy was truly contagious. He brought a real passion to every project that he and Memnon worked on and derived intense joy from his work. This was equally true of his loves outside of the office – his family, especially his beloved daughter Sydney and his Harley Davidson!
Andrew was incredibly proud of the talented colleagues he had enlisted and of their achievements in growing Memnon’s US operations from its formative steps working with Indiana University to becoming a trusted partner for many high-profile names in the realms of sport, education, M&E and archives and libraries. Above all, this success was down to Andrew and his sense of drive and mission – a mission that he would say was just getting started.
It’s testament to Andrew’s inspirational character that the Memnon family in the US and beyond have expressed their desire to honour and respect his legacy by carrying forward his passionate devotion to Memnon’s mission into everything we do.
As we all come to terms with this awful news, please join me in taking some time to remember Andrew and spare a moment to think about his family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.
Without Andrew, our business – and the entire archiving industry – will be different. He will be so missed.
